Music balear, spanish for balearic music. For those that know their history, the UK pioneers who came back from Ibiza in 1987 and created the first Acid House clubs in the country. Danny Rampling came back and created Shoom.

Nicky Holloway (with Paul Oakenfold, Johnny Walker and Danny Rampling) was one of the infamous "Ibiza four" - who went for a holiday in Ibiza in 1987 and came back and started a scene that revolutionised the UK. They were all blown away by visiting a little club called Amnesia, and a certain DJ called Alfredo Fiorito - the pioneer of Balearic beats. Apparently they were in ecstasy.
